Mpox information for patients
There is an outbreak of a new strain of Mpox (Clade 1) in Central Africa. Further details are available on the NHS website.
There are no known cases in the UK, but please call NHS 111 and do not attend our services if you answer yes to the following:
You have any of the following symptoms: Rash, Fever, Ulcers or Sores on your body, Severe Headache, Muscle Aches, Joint Pains, Swollen Glands, Shivering (chills), Severe Rectal Pain
AND
You have had contact with someone who has confirmed Mpox Clade 1 in the last 21 days
OR
You have travelled to any of the following countries below within the last 21 days:
Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon, Gabon, Angola, South Sudan, Tanzania, Zambia.
